Department of Software Engineering

Vision:

Software Engineering Department will act to be the center of excellence for studies and research. The graduates of this department will be recognized as high skilled software developers, analytical and critical thinkers in the field of software engineering and they will contribute in the development and economy of the country by providing the needed software and services.

Mission:

  • To provide high quality education for the graduate and undergraduate students of this department, enabling them to be successful leaders and innovators capable of meeting complex challenges.
  • To promote qualities of leadership professionalism, teamwork spirit, critical and analytical thinking, and cultural sensitivity among staff and students.
  • To ensure training of students so that they have sound moral and ethical values, thereby becoming a useful part of the society and thus contributing positively to the socio-economic growth of the country.

Goals:

  • Ability to design, develop, test, maintain, reengineer and analyze different types of software systems.
  • Ability to manage a software project from writing proposal, planning and scheduling, risk management, monitoring, and reporting using modern project management tools such as, configuration management tools.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of science, mathematics, computer science principles and other relevant field of studies to solve complex computing problems.
