Foreign Minister Addresses Students
At a reform seminar for students held at Kabul University, Honorable Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Foreign Minister of the I.E.A., delivered a speech regarding foreign policy, domestic policy, and the achievements of the I.E.A.
He identified Islamic Sharia, a unified leader, obedience, and the acquisition and preservation of independence as the fundamental principles of I.E.A. policy. He further articulated that the I.E.A. has adopted a balanced policy— a doctrine designed to avoid infringing upon the sovereignty of other nations while simultaneously safeguarding Afghanistan’s national interests.
According to him, Emirate maintains an economy-centric approach, aiming for Afghanistan to reclaim its strategic role as a regional connectivity hub and achieve self-reliance following decades of protracted conflict.
Regarding developmental milestones, he highlighted significant advancements, stating that the stability of the national currency has been maintained, the cultivation and trafficking of narcotics have decreased unprecedentedly, export volumes have increased, and the national economy has been fortified. He clarified that exemplary security has been established, reliance on domestic revenue has increased, and substantive measures have been implemented to prevent and eradicate corruption, furthermore, social welfare initiatives have brought deserving widows and mendicants under state care, millions of refugees have returned and been resettled, and national cohesion has been significantly revitalized compared to the past.
He also emphasized that the country is moving confidently toward stability, security, and unity, stating that no current internal conditions exist that would facilitate foreign intervention or incite domestic opposition.
In his concluding remarks to the students, he stated: "Acquire specialized expertise in your respective disciplines, place your trust in Allah, and maintain self-efficacy." He added: " The determination lies with you; the stewardship is our responsibility”.
