Current situation

Current Situation:

The Faculty of Biology currently does not have an independent building and is located together with faculty Physics, in the building that was previously used by the Faculty of Science on the campus of Kabul University. This building houses classrooms, equipped laboratories, a computer lab, and a library.

Academic Programs:

The faculty of Biology has two departments- Zoology and Botany but does not offer graduation at department level and offers general biology with bachelor’s degree. Increasing the number of departments is one of the main objectives of the faculty.

The bachelor’s degree program is supposed to be completed in 4 years (8 semesters). In first two semester’s basic subjects and in the remaining six semesters main and specialized subjects are taught. Considering that Biology is one of the special comparative fields, approximately high percentage of subjects has practical lessons in addition to theoretical lessons. Moreover, lecturers of the faculty of Biology teach general Zoology, General Botany, Ecology, Cellular Biology and other subjects in other faculties such as Veterinary Science, Geology, Social Science, Environmental Science, Pharmacy and Psychology.
