Curren Situation

The Faculty of Physics currently employs academic staff holding the ranks of Pohand (Professor), Pohandoy (Associate Professor), Pohandmal (Assistant Professor), Pohanyar (Lecturer), and Nominated Pohanyar (Junior Lecturer).

The faculty has a computer lab and a library with about 4,200 books, offering a suitable environment for study and research.

There are three active departments:

  • Department of Physics and Electronics
  • Department of Theoretical and General Physics
  • Department of Nuclear and Atomic Physics

Both Bachelor’s and Master’s programs are offered, and their semester-based curricula are included in this profile.

To strengthen academic and administrative quality, the faculty operates eight active committees:

  • Discipline Committee
  • Cultural Committee
  • Examination Committee

  • Curriculum Committee

Additional subcommittees include:

The faculty has 5 equipped laboratories:

  • Mechanics Laboratory
  • Electronics Laboratory
  • Wave & Optics Laboratory
  • Nuclear Laboratory
  • Electricity and Magnetism Laboratory

Student admission is conducted through the national Kankor exam. Instruction is provided in Dari and Pashto, while English is used as an international academic language, especially in textbooks and references available in the library.
