The Faculty of Administration and Public Policy was established in 1390 in the framework of Kabul University. Since its establishment, the Department of Administration and Public Policy has been engaged in the training of expert staff in the fields of policymaking, governance, and management of government development programs. The duration of study in this university is eight semesters, in the first two years, students learn the basic and inclusive university topics, and in the last two years, the specialized topics of administration and public policy are taught in this university in national and English languages, all practical lessons and an opinion is presented using modern technology and completed with an internship and other practical programs. The curriculum of the faculty is standardized and equal to the demand of the Afghan society by the University of Potsdam, Germany, with the financial cooperation of the GIZ Institute (GIZ). In addition to teaching theoretical issues in the seventh and eighth semesters, the students of the Faculty of Administration and Public Policy are sent to teach and learn practical subjects in the country's public administrations, so that the theoretical topics they have learned in this faculty can be seen in their practical contexts in public administrations.
In the first year of its operation, the Faculty of Administration and Public Policy had 100 students and in the following years, it was increased with the increase of manpower. In 1400, it attracted 327 students through the competitive entrance exam process. It is worth mentioning that this university has so far been able to present eight rounds of graduates to the society at the bachelor's level.
