Arabic Language and Literature Master’s Program

^{The department of Arabic language and literature was independently established inside the frame work of the faculty of literature in 1345, and currently a large number of the youth are engaged in studying Arabic language here.}

^{Visions: The main aim for organizing the above mentioned program is to offer bachelor degree in Arabic literature as well as giving professional trainings in the field of Arabic literature.}

^{The objectives of the program:}

^{The main purpose for holding Arabic Master’s program is to enhance the capacities of the students in the field of Arabic literature in accordance with the need of the Afghan society, while considering the academic, cultural and literal promotion.}

^{The long term capacities of the program:}

^{The faculty of literature along with the department of Arabic language includes 10 departments, while every department offers bachelor degree. There are 13 professors in the department of Arabic literature, out of which 4 of them have received (Ph.D) and they are holding academic grade of (Pohandoy), besides the two Egyptian professors who are also Ph.D holders are cooperating the masters program of the Arabic department.}

^{Educational Period:}

^{The duration of the Master’s Program of the Arabic literature is two years (four semesters). The students will be studying 16 weeks per semester, while the duration of every lecture according to the credit system will be 50 minutes. The academic year will be started in the month of (Hamal). The attendance record requirements will be 80% and the passing marks will be 60 out of 100, fulfilling 50 credits and attending the viva will be compulsory for the students in order to be privileged for the master’s degree. The complete guidance for writing the thesis and presenting the seminar will be offered to the students of the Master’s program.}

 ^{The expected outcomes from the program:}

^{It’s expected to meet the following goals from the masters program of the Arabic language:}

1. ^{Professional instructors will be trained.}
2. ^{Arabic language will be learned in a professional and academic manner.}
3. ^{The participants will be familiarized with modern advancement and promotion of Arabic language and literature.}
4. ^{The participants will be familiarized with modern literary schools of Arabic literature, chiefly the Islamic literature.}
5. ^{The participants will be familiarized with the new methodology of learning Arabic language.}

^{The structure of the curriculum:}

^{The curriculum of the master program is based on the current credit system and is divided into two section. 1- Literature 2- Linguistics. And the requirements of the master degree is to fulfill 46 credit hours.}

^{The curriculum was developed in accordance with the student’s level of understanding as well as to enhance the capacities of them according to their fields of specialization.}
