Updating the curriculum
Objective:
to review, revise and update the curriculum to make positive changes based on the needs of the learners and stakeholders.
To address the society’s needs, it is essential to update the curriculum. updating the curriculum closely relates with reviewing and revising the curriculum to make positive changes based on the needs of the learners. Since it needs specific process, in 1396 (2018) Kabul University Faculties did needs analysis regarding this issue to find out the curriculums’ pros and cons that are used in faculties. Then it was decided to use Outcome-based Education (OBE). In addition, it has been planned to focus and organize everything related to the courses in an educational system that is essential for the learners and make them able to be successful at the end of their learning experiences.
To achieve this goal, Kabul University made a specific committee by the name of “Curriculum Committee” at the university level and each faculty has its own sub curriculum committee.
In addition, formal trainings have been applied for the members of the committee to be more familiarized with strategies relating to OBE. It has been started since 1397 (2018) and will be ended in 1399 (2021).
