Strategic Plan
The Faculty of Engineering at Kabul University, with the mission of enhancing the quality of education, research, and community service, has revised and developed its strategic plan in alignment with Kabul University’s overall strategic framework. This plan focuses on key pillars such as strengthening faculty capacity, expanding academic programs to meet public needs, and improving educational and research infrastructure. Its primary goal is to train engineers who can actively contribute to Afghanistan’s development in diverse fields.
In the academic domain, the plan emphasizes curriculum revision, alignment with international standards and labor market demands, and the introduction of new programs at the master’s and doctoral levels. Effective use of modern educational technologies and the creation of a dynamic learning environment are also among its priorities.
One of the core pillars of this strategic plan is the short-term and long-term development of faculty members. In the short term, faculty will be introduced to capacity-building programs and specialized workshops; in the long term, opportunities will be provided for them to pursue master’s and doctoral studies. This approach will strengthen the faculty’s academic and research standing both nationally and internationally.
The strategic plan of the Faculty of Engineering emphasizes strengthening scientific and applied research. It includes the development of research projects aimed at solving the country’s technical challenges, fostering national and international collaborations, and encouraging faculty and students to publish academic articles in reputable journals. These initiatives will enhance the faculty’s academic standing and increase its contribution to knowledge production and innovation.
In the revenue domain, the strategic plan, aligned with Kabul University’s revenue procedures, focuses on diversifying and expanding financial resources. Generating income through academic services, research projects, and educational activities is among its key objectives. This approach ensures financial sustainability for the faculty and provides the necessary means to implement strategic programs effectively.
From a social and cultural perspective, the strategic plan highlights students’ responsibilities toward society, the promotion of professional ethics, adherence to discipline, and active participation in cultural and social programs. Furthermore, raising students’ awareness of the faculty’s overarching goals and development plans will guide them toward fulfilling the mission and vision of this academic institution.
