Seminar on Library Management Concluded at Kabul University

The Directorate of the Central Library of Kabul University convened a two-day training seminar entitled "Library Management and Subject Headings under the LCC System" for the library administrators across all university faculties.

The seminar provided participants with professional instructions on the principles of contemporary library management and cataloging methodologies based on (LCC) system. Furthermore, theoretical and practical briefings were conducted regarding the operations of the Central Library’s reference, monograph, journals, and circulation departments.

Upon the conclusion of the proceedings, the Directorate of the Central Library communicated a series of strategic directives to the participants, aimed at further institutionalizing and standardizing the services of the faculty libraries.

Kabul University currently maintains a Central Library encompassing approximately 105,000 printed volumes across diverse academic disciplines, complemented by 28 branch libraries for specialized academic disciplines. The administration and academic oversight of these library systems are managed by the university’s Vice chancellery for Research and Scientific Journal.
