Hosting an Academic Seminar on Islamic Banking
A one-day academic seminar titled "Islamic Banking" was successfully organized through the joint coordination of Ghazanfar Bank and the Faculties of Sharia and Economics at Kabul University.
The event was attended by the University’s Vice Chancellor for Research and academic Journal, representatives from Ghazanfar Bank, domestic and international experts in Islamic banking, academic staff and students from the Faculties of Sharia and Economics, as well as faculty members from various public and private universities.
During the seminar, comprehensive discussions and exchanges of views took place regarding the principles, opportunities, and challenges of Islamic banking. Additionally, key topics were thoroughly deliberated, including the definition and conceptualization, historical development, objectives, and indicators of Islamic banking. The participants also explored Sharia governance in Islamic finance, the types and nature of transactions, the Islamic financial industry, and the core distinctions between Islamic and conventional banking.
In this scholarly gathering, compliance with and the supremacy of Sharia standards, equitable profit-and-loss sharing, and the execution of interest-free transactions were highlighted as the most prominent features and core components of Islamic banking.
The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session between the presenters and the audience.
