Central Library
The Central Library at Kabul University operates in accordance with established regulations and institutional objectives, facilitating access to research resources for faculty members, students, and other users. The Central Library of Kabul University was established in 1932, concurrently with the founding of the university, and has undergone continuous stages of development over time. At one point, it was regarded as one of the most significant libraries in the country and the region. Currently, the library holds approximately 150,000 volumes across various academic disciplines.
The Central Library comprises several administrative and professional units, including the General Directorate, General Professional Management, Cataloging Management, Circulation and Organization Management, Reference Services, Afghanistan Studies (Social Sciences), Afghanistan Studies (Natural Sciences), Online Services, Digital Management, and Periodicals Management. In addition, the library includes a preservation and binding unit dedicated to the repair and maintenance of books, ensuring the longevity and protection of its collections.
