Department of Communication Studies
A) Introduction:
The Department of Communication Studies was established in 2017 in the framework of the of Kabul University Communication and Journalism School, which has one of the most modern curriculums related to the study of communication.
Vision:
The department of communication studies has different goals. Candidates who graduate from this department can facilitate work in private companies, government and non-government institutions and at different levels. Arrangement and development of communication in any organization is a vital task, and organizations need to appoint communication specialists to arrange their organizational relations, so that these specialists can create effective conditions and space for meaningful communication with the external environment. By strengthening the knowledge of communication according to individual and organizational needs, the graduates will come to excel in the workplace. Additionally, by analyzing how concepts and explanations are formed by communication, graduates are better prepared for situations or challenges.
Mission:
The Department of Communication Studies of the School of Communication & Journalism, Kabul University, with its facilities and standard teaching, provides the field of education for the committed and talented youth of the country in the field of communication studies. It will be an effective step in branding the professional capabilities of students to coordinate with the labor market and obtain communication abilities with working environments and meet the needs of society in the field of communication to present the trained professionals in this field to the national and international level.
b) Objectives:
The main goal of establishing the study of communication is to improve the quality of scientific and professional education in the short term, to ensure the quality of teaching, quality education and entrepreneurship and in the long term, the goal of this department is to grow specialized scientific capacities in Afghanistan to meet the needs of the communication market at the national and global level.
Values:
- Adherence to the rules and regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education and the academic policy of Kabul University and the policy of the School of Communication & Journalism;
- Training of elite students and competent staff keeping in mind today's scientific standards;
- All-round support for the scientific-cultural activities of the professors and students of this department;
- Teaching and fostering the spirit of commitment and adherence to ethics and honesty in teaching and research among academic staff and students;
- Special attention to the quality of education in the credit system by using modern educational methods and information technology;
- Expanding scientific knowledge and professional skills for professors and students;
- Expanding new research tools with new research methods in the field of communication Studies;
- Observance of human, Islamic, and national values by expanding the spirit of patriotism and removing any ethnic, religious, and linguistic prejudices and differences from the fundamental values of the department.
