Department of Information Technology
Vision:
- Building an excellent reputation at national, regional and international levels by providing quality, effective and efficient IT education to the students based on acceptable standards and IT curriculum framework.
- Producing graduates that can meet the local and regional IT job requirements and skills demand based on a standard competency based IT curriculum model in consideration of the local needs and futuristic view IT domains.
- Being part of global research communities and actively contribute to the computer science knowledge and promote research and innovation among the Afghan computer scientists.
Mission:
- Graduate highly qualified students based on a widely accepted IT educational standards and curriculum framework (ACM/IEEE IT2017) and guidelines for a successful professional career considering the Afghanistan’s job market and stakeholder needs.
- Provide a learning environment that can help students to learn professional, research, leadership, problem-solving, lifelong learning and entrepreneurship skills.
- Produce graduates in the field of IT with necessary professional skills that can propose, plan, design, build, develop, manage, maintain and secure technological solutions and infrastructures that can help Afghanistan in building a transparent, reliable, strong, self-sustainable and affordable IT systems
Goals:
This department’s objective is to train IT professionals in the field of Information and Communication Technology. The IT Department curriculum is also aligned and focused to achieve this objective. The IT professionals that will be graduated from this department can be employed at various organizations and they can work as system administrators, network administrator, network engineers, network specialists, network designers, security experts, IT managers, web developer and database administrators; students are also familiar with cybercrimes.
