Permanent Committees

The Faculty of Languages and Literature has a total of ten internal committees. Its main committee is the Academic Council of the Faculty, where all decisions and reports of the faculty are approved.

Academic Council

The primary objective of this council is to bring together members of the faculty’s academic staff in order to cooperate with students in the fields of teaching and research, aiming to achieve high academic, professional, ethical, and moral standards.
The council is chaired by the Dean of the Faculty, with the Vice Dean serving as Secretary, and includes Heads of Departments and two representatives from each department. The council holds at least one meeting every three weeks.
In general, the duties and responsibilities of this council include making academic decisions and approving such decisions, which are then implemented by the relevant authorized authorities.

Strategic Planning Committee

This committee is established based on the university’s strategic plan and is responsible for the development of strategic plans and policies for the faculty and its departments. Members of this committee are representatives of the departments.
The committee meets twice each semester or whenever necessary.

Curriculum Committee

This committee is responsible for reviewing and developing academic curricula, study programs, course policies, laboratory guidelines, and teaching materials. Based on departmental recommendations and academic needs, the committee may add or remove courses as necessary.
Members of this committee are representatives of the departments. The committee meets as required, but at least twice each semester.

Examination Committee

 Members of this committee are selected annually by the Faculty Academic Council to serve for two academic semesters and represent the departments. The primary responsibility of this committee is to supervise midterm and final examinations in accordance with university regulations and bylaws.
The committee is also responsible for ensuring transparency and fairness in examination results.
The committee meets as needed, but at least twice each semester: once before the start of examinations and once after their completion.

Quality Assurance Committee

Sports Committee

This committee plays an important role in promoting the physical and mental well-being of students at the faculty level. It is responsible for organizing and managing sports activities, encouraging student participation in various sports disciplines, and coordinating intra-faculty and inter-faculty competitions.
By fostering teamwork, healthy competition, and discipline, the committee makes a valuable contribution to the social and academic development of students.
