Melody and Song Department

A) Program Overview

The Melody and Song program has been established with the aim of educating and developing skills related to melodic composition (tasnif), songwriting, and the art of vocal performance. This program provides students with a solid foundation in the principles of composing and arranging tasnif, methods of song performance, and the technical skills required for professional singing.

The curriculum covers various components, including an understanding of song structure, coordination between poetry and melody, vocal performance techniques, the use of vocal methods, and the ability to convey emotions effectively in tasnif performance. In addition, students become familiar with different approaches to performing artistic works and learn how to use their vocal capabilities to create impactful and expressive performances.

The primary objective of this program is to train a new generation of artists who, through mastery of the principles of tasnif and songwriting, are capable of creating and presenting meaningful and influential artistic works.
