A. Introduction to the Department of Information Systems
Information Systems constitute a key area within Computer Science, playing a vital role in data storage, organization, reuse, analysis, and decision-making across education, research, health, business, security, and social domains. Effective planning, decision-making, project implementation, and organizational coordination all depend on well-managed information systems.
The Department of Information Systems at Kabul University was established to educate professional and academic personnel and to conduct research in this critical field. The department currently offers standardized bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. Specialized courses include:
- Database design and development
- Web systems and application development
- Technical programming
- Mobile application development
- Data warehousing and data mining
- Natural language processing
- Spatial data analysis and cloud/web applications
