Department of Food Technology
The Department of Food Technology is one of the main departments of the Faculty of Agriculture, for this reason, in 1402, this department, with its trained and sufficient scientific staff, the majority of whom received education from prestigious universities in the world, was promoted as an independent department in the Faculty of Agriculture. The main objective of this department is to equip students with the knowledge of food technology needed to advance the food industry in Afghanistan and enter the public and commercial Additionally, the Department of Food Technology, through its professors and graduates, aims to establish a relationship with the commercial sector of food processors to support the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture, irrigation and livestock and the Ministry of Public Health, as well as it also directly supports the quality and security of food processors. Overall, this multifaceted process is designed to provide the technical assistance needed to improve food quality, secure graduate employment opportunities, and boost economic growth in food processing and complementary industries.
Food technology graduates study concepts and principles related to various storage techniques, food factory design, production technology of different food products (milk and its products, meat and its products, grains and its products, sweet, cooking oil production, canning, etc.), as well as food packaging and quality control skills during their academic and specialized bachelor's degree program.
After graduation, they can work as food specialists, in charge of quality control of food production units, specialists in food designing companies, experts in food production and quality control (quality control specialist, production specialist, development and research specialist, etc.), specialist in government institutions and organizations and food supervision, specialist for cooperation and assistance in education and research.
