Vision
The Counseling Department of the Kabul University faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences is determined to provide professional counselors to provide quality psychosocial services to the affected Afghan society.
Mission
The Counseling Department is committed to provide appropriate courses in psychological counseling, career and academic counseling that meet the current needs of the society and the level of neighboring countries, in accordance with internationally accepted standards, Hence, the graduates of this department should be served as professionals in various fields of counseling. mental health and educational centers.
Goals/ Objectives
- Training professional counselors who are able to apply psychotherapeutic and psychosocial practice, theories and skills necessary to help diverse individuals and groups with psychological challenges.
- Training counsellors with research skills and abilities who are able to conduct advanced research to enrich psychological literature in Afghanistan.
- Training counsellors who are committed to the counseling principles, values and ethics.
- Providing mental health and psychosocial awareness for individuals, families, groups and communities through seminars, journals, workshops and training of professional counsellors in mental health and psychosocial support.
- Moving toward the creation of an Afghan Counseling Psychology that integrates Afghanistan’s diverse cultural and spiritual values into counseling practice at all levels; individual, group and community.
