The Governing Board of the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) expressed their condolences on the occasion of the 2nd Nov 2020 incident with Governing Board of the Kabul University

The Governing Board of the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) led by Prof. David Sydney, Chancellor of Kabul University, expressed their condolences with the Chancellor and Board of Governors of Kabul University on the occasion of the tragic 2nd Nov 2020 incident.

Mr. David Sydney, Chancellor of the American University of Afghanistan, Dr. Victoria Charlotte Fontaine, Vice Chancellor of Education and Director of Academic Cooperation of AUAF spoke at the meeting, first expressing satisfaction with the opportunity to visit Kabul University and expressed their sympathy and condolences on the occasion of the 2nd Nov 2020 incident with Governing Board of the Kabul University. Mr Sydney said that the 2nd Nov 2020 incident was as a terrorist incident and wished that Afghan security officials could work hard to identify; arrest and bring the main perpetrators to justice. Mr. Sydney during his speech emphasized on the establishment and expansion of joint scientific and academic cooperation and programs between the two institutions, and recently presented a booklet containing messages of condolence and sympathy to officials, professors and students of the American University of Afghanistan to the Chancellor of Kabul University.

Then, Prof. Dr. M. Osman Babury Chancellor of Kabul University, while welcoming, appreciated the presence; sympathy and compassion of the governing board of the American University of Afghanistan at Kabul University and considered it as a sign of unity and convergence between these two academic institutions in difficult circumstances. Dr. Babury said that the American University of Afghanistan is a sincere friend and colleague of the country and thanked them for their efforts. At the end of his speech, Dr. Babury continued to emphasize on the continuation of joint scientific cooperation and academic relations between the two institutions and wished further cooperation opportunities.

This meeting, which was started at 2 pm, ended at 2:40 am.
