History of Faculty:

 

Psychology and Educational Science Faculty of Kabul University was established in 1962 under Kabul University framework by the name of Education Faculty which had started its work with 60 students and 10 expert Afghan and American instructors with master and doctor degrees in different fields.

In 2004 Kabul Pedagogy Institution changed its name to Education University. With the focus which this faculty had relation with Education University and importance of psychology and culture science and for its necessity as an independent institution, the name of the faculty was suggested to Psychology and Educational Science Faculty which was accepted by Ministry of Higher Education.

Psychology and Educational Science Faculty has four departments: Education, Psychology, Administration and Management and in 2013 department of Advisor and Instruction will also be added. Graduates of these departments can work in Educational Management, Ministries of Education and Higher Education, as instructors at universities of education, advisors in mental health and at schools, Education Ministry inspectors, Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and Ministry of Woman Affairs.

 

  • It does not have depreciation land.
  • Since the faculty was established, Surajuddin Aleemi, Aynuddin Marouf and Sayed Ahamad Sha Sharifi were the deputies of the faculty and now Khalilurahman Khalil is the deputy of faculty.
  • Faculty has three departments; Pedagogy, Psychology which was from establishment of faculty and Educational Administration Department that was established and started in 2005.

  • There is no exact statistics of graduates from the years before 2001, but after 2001 up to 2011 the daytime graduates are 733 students which are included of 418 males and 315 females students and in 2005 nightly part started to enrolled the students and up to now it graduated 184 students which are included of 14 females and 168 males.
  • In the past 80% of graduates were absorbed in government and nongovernment administrations and now 50% of them are absorbed in schools, universities and as a specialists in education part in Ministry of Education.
  • Using of hostel for male and female, the building which is provided for students by Ministry of Higher Education, using the sport ground which is existed at Kabul University.
  • Students Services: existence of Advisor and Instruction group in the faculty.
