Current situation

The term of study in the faculty of Law and political science of Kabul University is four years for the day-shift and five years for the nigh-shift. This period includes two years of general studies and two years of professional studies for the day-shift, and two years of general studies and three years of professional studies for the night-shift. However, when the new strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education was adopted in 2016 and 2017, and the order No 190/312 (1395/4/21) issued by the leadership Council, the students were directly admitted to either law or political science fields from the Kankor Examination, and from 2017 onward, they will graduate from the two fields (law field and political science field). This faculty have been able to present professional and expert specialists to the society in both fields. Considering the current developments and the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education, the current curriculum is revised and is updated to comply with the current developments and the world reliable educational and legal academies.

In the meantime, this faculty has an equipped computer lab which was established by the financial aid from the USAID and started its activity in 2006. The Legal Clinic of this faculty was established in 2011 by the cooperation of Tetra Tech DPK office. The Research Room of this faculty, which is equipped with high technology, was established in 2014.            

It should be noted that the professors of this faculty not only teach in their own faculty, but also teach any related subjects to other faculties of the university such Sharia faculty, faculty of Journalism, and faculty of economics.
