Curriculum

Educational Strategy:

Economics Faculty graduates students after four years that is consisted of eight (8) semesters. This four year program has two terms; the first term includes four semesters in which the fundamental or basic themes (Basic Subjects) are planned to teach. These subjects make the fundamental professional need of the faculty. At the end of the first term, the participants learn the professional skills, particularly in English language, mathematics and statistics of individual skills (computer). At the end of the internship program, students would improve their theoretical knowledge and practical activities. In order to apply the internship program with the various governmental and personal agencies, they provide facilities for the students. 

The remind four semesters relates to the 2nd professional term, the subjects in this term are mandatory. Therefore, students have to follow all the mandatory subjects in order to be qualified to have the bachelor degree. During this term, the teaching of subjects is necessary and indispensable. But, there are some subjects which are optional, which means that students have the right to choose their subjects based on their field of study.

In addition, it is manndetoryfor students to write a monograph and present at least one seminar on a specific topic during the seventh or eighth semesters to get their bachelor degree. Students’ presentation would be in front of some professors and students.

The Required Credits to Complete the Degree Program:

148 credit hours are considered for the four-year program. According to credit byelaws faculty can  completeat least (136) credit hours based on their curriculum. Credit hour is organized based on each semester’s academic curriculum and the determination of the content of the curriculum. A 16 credit hours course is one semester.The (16) credit hours course in a university relates to the general and optional subjects. The (43) credit hours have been allocated to the main subjects of the each field of study. The (78) credit hours awarded to the professional and mandatory subjects of the professional field. And the (11) credit hours are for monographs and seminars.The number of credits for each subject and its code number is mentioned in the table above.

Categories and Percentages of the Subjects:

As 148 credits is consedered in this academic curriculum, the subjects according to the difference of its percentage  and categories are as follows:

  1. The main subjects 43 credits (29.2%)
  2. The general and optional subjects 16 credits(10.8%)
  3. The professional subjects 78 credits (52.7%)
  4. The monograph and seminar 11 credits (7.4%)

 

      The Balance of Practical and Theoretical Activities:

All subjects, which are planned to be taught in a four-year program includes theoretical and practical activities. Each professional subjects have the specific content and context of practical activities in its field of study.  The 20% is the total scores of the practical activities, 20% is the midterm exam and 60% is the final exam.
