Meeting of Professor Hamidullah Farooqi Chancellor of Kabul University and Advisor of Chief Minister in Higher Education Affairs of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan; with Representative of (ITC) International Trade Center.

On  Wednesday, 16th of July 2019, Professor Hamidullah Farooqi Chancellor of Kabul University and Advisor of Chief Minister in Higher Education Affairs of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan; has met with Mr. Sadiqullah Mojadadi, the head of the ITC International Trade Center office in Kabul.

Mr. Farooqi thanked the Special Representative of the ITC Office for implementing the Kabul University programs and welcomed the ongoing cooperation with the Government of Afghanistan and Kabul University. Both sides also spoke on the framework of Kabul University cooperation with that office and the creation of the Resource Center for WTO Studies Center at the University.

Mr. Farooqi further conceived Afghanistan's membership of the World Trade Organization as necessary, beneficial and good, and supported the cooperation of the ITC's International Trade Center Office with the Afghan departments in providing technical and educational facilities in the field of World Trade Organization "WTO".

Then, Mr. Mojjadidi, while appreciating and thanking the leadership of the Kabul University, called on the ITC office and the World Trade Organization (WTO) to establish a center to enable the students of Kabul University to use the Center's training programs and opportunities and available opportunities in the world of business.

At this meeting, Mr. Pohnar Mohammad Reza Farzam, the vice chancellor in Finance and Administrative affairs of the Kabul University, talked about the previous cooperation of this center with Afghan departments, and specifically with Kabul University, and considered useful and necessary the creation of Center for Research and Educational Resources at the Kabul University, and to incorporate curriculum credentials into curriculum of related fields.

It should be noted that Afghanistan became a member of the World Trade Organization in 2016, and the Office of the International Trade Center (ITC) in Kabul, with its headquarters in the city of Geneva, Switzerland operates within the framework of the World Trade Organization, and one of the coordinating offices And facilitates the organization's plans in Afghanistan.
