Kabul University Chancellor Has Met with Younis Amra Institute Chief in Kabul University

 

Mr. Seljouq Dogan, Head of the Office of the Yunus Emira Institute in Kabul, on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2019, attended and met the Kabul University Presidency with Professor Hamidullah Farooqi Chancellor of Kabul University and Senior Minister Adviser of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Higher Education Affairs; they discussed and exchanged views.

During the meeting, Mr. Seljouq Dogan expressed his appreciation and appreciation for the opportunity to exchange views and activities of the Yunus Amra Institute in Afghanistan, especially in Kabul University. He said: the main purpose of establishing representatives of this institute in different countries is to introduce Turkish language, culture and common values ​​of the Turkey country in the world, but since Turkey and Afghanistan have a lot of historical and cultural value in common, our efforts in this country are to develop and expand cooperation in various sectors, especially science and culture. He called on the Kabul University Department to allow the institute officials to provide short-term Turkish language programs and courses for faculty at the university in the summer / winter season.

Subsequently, Professor Hamidullah Farooqi Chancellor of Kabul University and Senior Minister Adviser of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Higher Education Affairs;  spoke at the meeting, welcomed Mr. Dugan to his office and talked about Afghan interests, particularly the Afghan academic community, and  reminded the commonalities between the two countries; talked about scholars and sages characters like Moalana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi and Allameh Sayed Jamaluddin Afghani as a turning point in enriching cultural and scientific relations between the two countries. He also highlighted the importance of developing academic relations between the two countries. Mr. Farooqi further agreed with Mr. Dogan's request to provide short-term Turkish language teaching opportunities for winter university students in Kabul, and urged him to consult with senior officials of the Yunus Emira Institute to provide joint scientific and research areas. Study for Afghan teachers and students at prestigious Turkish universities and sending professors and students from Turkey to study and educate at Kabul University; he added as Turkish students at Kabul University have studied for the past years, he said that he will try to reach his agreement and Mr. Dogan also promised to cooperate and to provide such an opportunities.

Yunus Emra’s Institute is an academic and cultural institution in Turkey; supported by its government in various countries, especially in Afghanistan, for cultural and educational programs that are now part of Kabul University's Turkish Language and Literature Department in the Languages and Literature Faculty of Kabul University. That annually accepts a large number of students in the Turkish Language Department and graduates a number of Turkish language and literature enthusiast students from this department.
