Meeting of Chancellor of Kabul University and Senior Minister Adviser of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Higher Education Affairs; with Egyptian Consul General in Kabul

The Egyptian Embassy Consul in Kabul, along with his delegation at the Kabul University Presidency, has met with Professor Hamidullah Farooqi Chancellor of Kabul University and Senior Minister Adviser of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Higher Education Affairs; and both sides discussed the issues.

The meeting, which took place on Wednesday, November 5th, 2019, Chancellor of Kabul University; the former and new Consul General of the Egyptian Embassy, ​​the three Sheikhs and the professors of the Al-Azhar University in Egypt. The Al-Azhar University in Egypt and Kabul University have a history of relations; and the new Consul General of the Egyptian Embassy considered Kabul University as one of Afghanistan's prestigious and recognized academic and  scientific centers. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of holding Arabic language courses for Kabul University students, granting master's degrees and PhD programs in Egyptian universities for Afghan students and facilitating further scientific collaboration between the academic institutions of the two countries.

Then Professor Hamidullah Farooqi Chancellor of Kabul University and Senior Minister Adviser of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Higher Education Affairs; welcomed them at the university's presidency and welcomed their cooperation proposals, welcomed the good relations between the two countries, and considered Egypt at the level of Islamic countries. Mr. Farooqi, referring to his visit to Al-Azhar University, considered Al-Azhar as an important center for the education of the scientists’ generation and the dissemination of science in Islamic countries and its graduates with new and useful ideas for their countries.

Following on, the two sides commemorated the accomplishments of the characters such as Sayeed Jamaleddin Afghani and Musa Shafiq, and after the end of this session, the Egyptian Embassy officials visited the tomb of Sayeed Jamaleddin Afghani in the Kabul University. Besides they have visited Language and Literature Faculties Arabic Department and Sharia Law Faculty of Kabul University.

They have considered Egypt is one of the most important Islamic countries, with embassies and educational networks, and other relations with Afghanistan, especially in the educational and cultural sectors.
