The Kabul University officially received National Accreditation Certificate from the Ministry of Higher Education

The Ministry of Higher Education awarded National Accreditation Documents for universities that had received their academic credibility nationally from the Ministry of Higher Education from its activities in the past year. The ceremony was held at the Ministry of Higher Education’s conference hall on Sunday 7th of July, 2019. In this ceremony Diploma Engineer Dr. Abdul Tawab Balakarzai, minister  of the Ministry of Higher Education and the academic Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Higher Education, the Chancellor of Kabul University and Advisor of Chief Minister in Higher Education Affairs of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan; Dr. Mohammad Haji Naeemi head of Quality Assurance and Accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education, a number of heads of departments of the Ministry of Higher Education, heads and deputies of the universities, heads of departments of a number of private universities, a number of departmental officials government and international institutions were participated.

At this ceremony in addition to the Kabul University, five other public and private educational institutions were awarded, the Kabul Medical University, Kandahar University, the University of Kandahar, the American University of Afghanistan, and the University of Katib.

 At the beginning of the program, Pohand Haji Mohammad Naeimi, Head of Quality Assurance and Accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education, introduced the criteria for academic accreditation in public and private academic institutions, and this program has been useful and effective for quantitative and qualitative reforms in educational institutions.

Subsequently, Diploma Engineer Dr. Abdul Tawab Balakarzai, minister of the Ministry of Higher Education and the academic Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Higher Education, while conveying their congratulations to the heads and delegations of universities that have received their academic credits, spoke about the history and effectiveness of the promotion of quality and accreditation globally. And began its inception in our country's higher education system since 2011. Dr. Abdul Tawab Balakarzai also referred to the acquisition of a certificate of accreditation of six universities in the country, adding that these academic institutions have met the National Accreditation Documents from the Ministry of Higher Education by completing the required standards. According to the Minister of Higher Education, this program is beneficial to the reform of the educational institutions of the country and is a good promise for the movement and excellence of higher education institutions, which provides grounds for management and scientific and research goals.

Diploma Engineer Dr. Abdul Tawab Balakarzai, mentioned the upcoming ministry of higher education’s program, adding that there was no difference between private and public universities, the only difference being that of the private sector funding department.

In his recent remarks, while pointing out the progress of the ministry, he thanked all the foreign and domestic colleagues.

Meanwhile, Professor Hamidullah Farooqi the Chancellor of Kabul University and Advisor of Chief Minister in Higher Education Affairs of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan; called this day the Higher Education Family and the Academic Society of the country a historic and exceptional day and presented and congratulated this great achievement to all the Presidents, , Professors and students of Kabul University. He also described the above program as important in evaluating the educational institutions in the country, and the delegation of the National Accreditation Certificate to Kabul University and other public and private scientific institutions was a great achievement for the Ministry of Higher Education and the scientific community of the country.

Mr Farooqi added that Kabul University is the oldest, most credible, largest and most important educational institution in the country, and felt its satisfaction with placing this university in the top rank of the top universities in Afghanistan by the Directorate of Quality Assurance and Accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education. The MoHE expressed their gratitude and thanks.

The chancellor of Kabul University added that the possibilities of higher education institutions are insignificant in terms of infrastructure and other issues in relation to the countries of the world and even the region where we can compete with universities in those countries; however, the implementation of the national accreditation program to institutionalize the culture of change in higher education are considered important in the universities of the country. Mr. Farooqi said that, in order to obtain the accreditation document in fact, the responsibility and duties of higher education institutions were doubled, the authorities of the scientific institutions of the country should work more in advance to achieve their scientific and research goals.

Also, Honorable Noor Ahmed Darwish, director of the HEDP program, also spoke about the issue and congratulated the country's academic institutions on the achievements of the nation's academic institutions.

Finally, the program ended with the awarding of accreditation documents to the six state and private universities and the transfer of letters of appreciation to members of the HEDP Board and the Quality Assurance and Validation Directorate.
