Discussion Conference on the National Action Plan for Afghan Women "NAPOAW" was held at Kabul University

 

For the implementation of the National Action Plan for Afghan Women and the presentation of the Ten-Year Assessment Report of NAPOAW, which is an important document of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan towards the nation, especially women and the international community. Regarding this a conference which was hosted by the Center for Policy Studies at Kabul University (NCPR) was held at the conference hall of that center.

For the purpose of this conference, Prof.  Hamidullah Farooqi Chancellor of Kabul University and Senior Minister Adviser of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Higher Education Affairs, Prof. Abdul Baaqi Banwal, head of the Center for Policy Studies at Kabul University, a number of officials and heads of the Ministry of Women's Affairs and other government departments, representatives of civil society organizations and women activists, a number of professors and Kabul University staff participated there.

At the beginning, Prof. Abdul Baaqi Banwal, Head of the Center for Policy Studies at Kabul University, welcomed all the conference participants, and talked about the plans and activities of that center within the framework of Kabul University.

Afterwards, Prof.  Hamidullah Farooqi Chancellor of Kabul University and Senior Minister Adviser of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Higher Education Affairs thanked Kabul University's Policy Research Center for conducting similar programs on research and its role in academic institutions. Scientific research is one of the important issues in universities and academic institutions.

Mr. Farooqi said that Kabul University, as the most prestigious academic institution in the country, along with the provision of educational and teaching services, has also considered research as one of its major responsibilities and is continuously working on it. Kabul University Chancellor, promoting the culture of research and the use of research, has been the joint work of all institutions and agencies, and wished all institutions to take practical steps in this and take responsibility for their science and value-gathering. Mr. Farooqi referred to women as a powerful arm of government and society, and their role in the development of the country has been very effective. He said women in our country have suffered a great deal and now have the opportunity to carry on their responsibilities along with men and in line with them.

Then, Honorable Prof. Shahla Farid, professor of Law Political Science, presented a conference entitled "Discussion on the National Action Plan for Afghan Women" and presented a comprehensive description of this issue. She also highlighted the results of their research and the challenges and then made their suggestions partnering with the members of the meeting and the relevant agencies for the second plan of the NAPOAW. Her conference was praised and encouraged by the participants, and later the number of participants of the program also gave their comments, reviews and questions. She provided comprehensive answers to the participants' questions.
