The Kabul University’s Chancellor and Advisor of Chief Minister in Higher Education Affairs of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Meeting with the president of the YÜZÜNCÜ YIL University in Van City of Turkey.

Professor Hamidullah Farooqi Chancellor of Kabul University and Advisor of Chief Minister in Higher Education Affairs of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has met with the Peyami Battal the president of the President of the YÜZÜNCÜ YIL University in Van city of Turkey. 

In this meeting, first the Chancellor of Kabul University and Advisor of Chief Minister in Higher Education Affairs of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan welcomed the President of the YÜZÜNCÜ YIL University and its delegations in his office.  Mr. Farooqi briefly talked about provided information about Kabul University and its role in the country and mentioned this university is one of the most prestigious and most worthy universities in Afghanistan. The chancellor of the Kabul University has reminded of the good and friendly relations of Afghanistan and Turkey throughout history, and made a great deal of academic and cultural communication between Kabul University and the universities of Turkey.

Mr. Farooqi also talked about Turkish department in the Languages and Literature Faculty and the cultural institution of Younes Amré. The Turkish department in the Languages and Literature Faculty was established 15 years ago in the Faculty of Languages and Literature and serving the students. This department has 176 students and 10 teachers, the teachers of this department beside the teaching responsibilities they work on research on the cultural issues of both countries.

Mr. Farooqi called for the expansion of academic, cultural and historical relations between the universities and peoples of the two countries, while also talked about support of the Turkey, it’s embassy in Afghanistan, the TIKA institute the Cultural Institute of Younes Amré with Kabul University And other parts of the country.

Dr. Peyami Battal the president of the President of the YÜZÜNCÜ YIL University also talked about the history of this university and expressed his gratification of being in the Kabul University and introduced the historical and cultural relations between the countries of Afghanistan and Turkey and called for the development and strengthening of these relations. He called the YÜZÜNCÜ YIL University one of the most important universities in Turkey, with a 36-year-olds with 1650 teachers and 1,350 staff members serving 33,500 students. Meanwhile, the institution has the appropriate facilities and infrastructure that could provide a platform for joint collaboration with Kabul University and other universities in Afghanistan.

In this meeting, the chancellors of both universities decided to evaluate the field of joint cooperation between the two universities and prepare the mutually acceptable sides of the agreement in the form of a memorandum of understanding, in order to provide academic co-operation. Then, the provided gifts exchanged between the chancellors of both universities.
