The Combat Campaign Against Cancer at Kabul University

The foundation of combat against Cancer has been launched the Campaign on Saturday, October 7, in order to prevent the risks of cancer and the timely treatment of the disease, in coordination with the Kabul University presidency, at the University Academic Council's Hall. Prof. Hamidullah Farooqi Chancellor of Kabul University and Advisor of Chief Minister in Higher Education Affairs of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Professor Dr. Nasrin Oryakhel, Head of the Foundation for the Fight Against Cancer, and Chairman of the Medical Council of the State, Dr. Javid Safi, Executive Director of the Medical Council, professors, staff and university students, were participated in the program.

At the beginning of the program, Prof. Hamidullah Farooqi Chancellor of Kabul University and Advisor of Chief Minister in Higher Education Affairs of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, welcomed the attendance of all the presenters at the Forum, and admired the organization of such programs to prevent the onset of a deadly and dangerous disease of cancer in the country, which have been very effective. The Chancellor of Kabul University added that cancer is a deadly disease that threatens humanity and human society, and every year around 14 million people in the world die from the effects of that disease. Prof. Hamidullah Farooqi said that if this phenomenon disregarded, it will quickly become strong, and in the next two decades, the number of human casualties in the world will double.

Prof. Hamidullah Farooqi has been pointed out the effectiveness of the public awareness and informing about the prevention and reduction of mortality for this disease, as well as the lack of treatment at advanced stages of illness, the lack of financial facilities, insurance in the country and other challenges; that people in a society and in the world cannot get rid of that serious illness. The chancellor of the Kabul University also spoke about the university's program and facilities; the University of Kabul was referred to as a small Afghanistan, which could provide a wider field of awareness for students and through students to their families.

Prof. Hamidullah Farooqi, from the address of the Kabul University, has promised all assistance and cooperation with the honorable institution of the fight against cancer, as well as the students, who will also be involved in transferring the messages of the fight against cancer to the people of the community and their families. Meanwhile, Dr. Nasrin Oryakhil, the chairman of the medical council of the country, provided detailed information about the foundation of combat against Cancer in the country. She mentioned that the purpose of the campaign is public awareness, reinvigoration and research and fundraising for those suffering from the disease.

Then Dr. Javid Safi, the Chief Executive of the Medical Council of Afghanistan, presented the presentation about the Foundation for the Fight against Cancer, history of the Foundation, cancer and its types, signs and symptoms of cancer and ways to prevent it.
