The New Academic Year 2018-2019 began through an Official Ceremony

 

The beginning of new academic year and welcoming the new students to Kabul University, ceremony was celebrated  on Wednesday, 5th September 2018 in Kabul University Central Hall, in the presence of the Excellency, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the Chief Executive Officer of the Country, Dr. Mohammad Baray Sadeqi, Deputy Minister of Students’ Affairs of the Ministry of Higher Education, Dr. Kamal Sadat, Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs from Ministry of Information and Culture, Dr. Mohammad Naeem Azimi Deputy of Academic Affairs and Supervisor of Kabul University, Honorable Prof. Dr. Tafsera Hashemi Deputy of Student Affairs of Kabul University, Prof. Mohammad Reza Farzam, Deputy of Finance and Administrative Office of Kabul University, Mr. Javed Faros, Head of Kabul University Students' Association, Deans of Faculties, and Students.

The ceremony began with recitation a few verses of Holy Quran by Ahmed Fawad Azimi and playing the national anthem of the country. According to the program's agenda, Javed Faros, Head of Kabul University Students' Association, besides welcoming the guests of the program, welcomed the new students to Kabul University and starting the new academic year.

At the beginning Dr. Mohammad Naeem Azimi, Deputy of Academic Affairs and Supervisor of Kabul University, besides welcoming the guests of the program, congratulated the beginning of the new academic year to the Ministry of Higher Education Leadership and students and welcomed the new students to Kabul University.

Then, the Excellency Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, The Chief Executive Officer of the Country, besides congratulating the joining of the students to Kabul University, he congratulated them the starting of the new academic year. "This is an endless beginning and a self-made period" said The Chief Executive Officer of the Country. A step in this way is a great deal of commitment and that our younger generation will be able to take this route as best as they can. Because the development and advancement of our society depends on the commitment and expertise of the educated generation. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah stated that the history of Kabul University is full of ups and downs; today, the government and the people of the country support this academic institution. On one hand, the efforts of the faculties and staff of the university, on the other hand, the commitment and working of the students have made Kabul University's credit high. He said there is plenty of opportunity for today's generation to raise their level of knowledge and expertise. These opportunities were not provided for the past, but the burden is a great responsibility for the generations of today, and it is a commitment to building and developing Afghanistan, which cannot be achieved without the expert generation. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah emphasized that, despite the existing problems, the government and the institutions are responsible for providing facilities to pursue and improve the education of young people, and students are also committed to pursuing their best education and preventing discriminatory issues inside universities. Because you have to build Afghanistan and build a community with no convergence and empathy, and he has invited students to convergence and empathy for achieving development and progress in Afghanistan. At the end of his speech, appreciation letters, which were prepared by Kabul University, were distributed to the three most successful Koncur 96-97 student who have got highest marks.

Also Prof. Dr. Tafsera Hashemi Deputy of Student Affairs of Kabul University, Prof. Mohammad Reza Farzam, Deputy of Finance and Administrative Office of Kabul University, and Dr. Mohammad Baray Sadeqi, Deputy Minister of Students’ Affairs of the Ministry of Higher Education, in turns, congratulated the new students and congratulated the new academic years. They spoke about the key roles of students in the university's academic development and the active participation of students in the development and advancement of the university.

According to the program agendas a patriotic song was sang by the Kushan School Music Group.

Also, Prof. Ahmad Jahed Fanous, a professor at the Fine Arts Faculty, performed the Kabul University song in a live manner, and in the following order, the students who received the highest marks in the 1397 Koncur, as well as five of the brave students of the University, each;Lady Sakinah, student of the Pashtu Department, Lady Lida from Faculty of Journalism, Lady Lina from Faculty of Journalism with Disability in the Blind, Fazlu Rahman from Faculty of Arts with Disability in leg , and Abdullah Ijerias from Faculty of Journalism, who came from the scholarship program from Turkey were appreciated by Kabul University and Kabul University Students’ Association.
