A Dual Meeting between Chancellors of Afghanistan and Iran Universities was held at the Kabul University Council Hall by Host of the Kabul University in Afghanistan

The purpose of this meeting was to provide academic and research collaboration and cooperation between public and private universities in Afghanistan and universities in Iran.

An academic cooperation between the chancellor of Kabul University and the head of Culture and Communication Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran; which was approved based on the agreement during this year between the officials of the two universities. Their first meeting of these two dual academic and cultural centers were held with the presence of the honorable Hamidullah Farooqi Chancellor of Kabul University and Advisor of Chief Minister in Higher Education Affairs of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and honorable Dr. Abuzar Ebrahimi Turkman, Director of the Organization of Culture and Communication of the Islamic Republic of Iran,  Dr. Reza Maliki, Cultural Advisor to the Islamic Republic of Iran Embassy in Kabul, Deputy Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Kabul, deputy ministers of Kabul University, heads of universities in Iran, heads of the private and public universities of Kabul, honorable principals of the Kabul University faculties, professors of both universities (Afghanistan and Iran), was held  on Saturday, 21st of April 2018 in the Kabul University Academic Council Hall.

The meeting began with the recitation of the verses of the Holy Qur'an, and then Prof. Hamidullah Farooqi Chancellor of Kabul University and Advisor of Chief Minister in Higher Education Affairs of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, welcomed the Iranian delegation and the other participants to this meeting from the address of the Ministry of Higher Education and Kabul University, Holding this program marked a turning point in strengthening and expanding the relations and academic and research relations of both countries (Afghanistan and Iran).

The Kabul University chancellor shared his contentment by holding this meeting and addressed: "Kabul University throughout its academic life has cultivated and presented to the community countless elite figures, and has also served a number of students from outside the country." Prof. Farooqi, has been reminded of the decades after the crisis and disadvantages, has also been a barrier to the activities and revelation of the academic and research values ​​of this university; and has expressed hope that Kabul University has been very active in consolidating and expanding academic relations with the universities of Iran and other countries. Prof. Farooqi considered these programs as important and valuable for strengthening the academic relations of the two countries, urged the authorities of the academic institutions present at the meeting to use the program and other scientific and cultural programs of both countries in a large and immersive way.

Dr. Abuzar Ebrahimi Turkman, Director of the Organization of Culture and Communication of the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressed his pleasure by presence at Kabul University for organizing various academic and cultural programs; he thanked the Kabul University Chair for the provision of these opportunities.

Mr. Ebrahimi also talked about the activities and agencies of that organization in different countries, and signed the agreement with Kabul University to strengthen and institutionalize the culture of both countries and exchange academic experiences between them. The head of Iran's Cultural and Communication Organization has mentioned the signing of the memorandums in creating and strengthening the academic relations between the two countries, worthwhile and efficient, so that these meetings and other programs are a good step for developing more academic and research relations between these countries.

Meanwhile, several heads of universities in Iran and Afghanistan, while highlighting the holding of this meeting and other programs, have talked about the importance of this meeting. In the context of academic and research cooperation, the two sides expressed their readiness.

In summing up and concluding the meeting, Prof. Farooqi expressed his gratitude and thanks to the presenting of the comments of the participants of the forum, and called for the establishment of such meetings to realize the academic and scientific aspirations of academic institutions. He thanked the Iranian authorities for their cooperation and approval.

At the end of the meeting, the provided gifts by the Iranian authorities were handed to the Chancellor of the Kabul University, that he has accepted them with a great appreciation from them.

Then the Iranian authorities, together with the Hamidullah Farooqi Chancellor of Kabul University and Advisor of Chief Minister in Higher Education Affairs of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, opened the ceremony by cutting off the bar, and laid the foundation stone for the department's building by the relevant authorities in order to set up a building of the Persian Department of the Faculty of Languages ​​and Literature at Kabul University, which will be sponsored by the Iran and its embassy in Afghanistan.

Prof. Farooqi expressed his gratitude and gratitude to the companion country of Iran and its embassy in Kabul for the construction of the Department of Persian Language of the Faculty of Languages ​​and Literature, which had already been promised by Iran; and the excellence of this academic institution.

Also, Mr. Ebrahimi, director of the Organization of Culture and Communication of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Mohammad Reza Bahrami, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul, expressed their pleasure with the construction of this building, hoping that the construction would be made as soon as possible, So that the Persian Department of the Faculty of Languages ​​and Literature of Kabul University will optimize its use.
