The Interest of Foreign Affairs Ministry of Islamic Republic of Iran in Expanding their Relations in International Relations, with Kabul University

Dr. Kazem Sadjad Pour, Deputy Minister and Head of the Bureau of Political Studies and International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at a meeting with Mr. Hamidullah Farooqi, Chancellor of Kabul University and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia meet on Saturday 13th January 2018 at Kabul University Academic Council Hall. Kabul University deputies, deputy of the Iranian Embassy in Kabul, Mr. Sayeed Hussein Hosseini, Dr. Sayeed Mohammad Mousavi, the former ambassador of Iran for Pakistan and India, and the current Professor of International Relations in Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hassan Sheikholeslami, Head of the Faculty of International Affairs of Iran, Mohammad Darabi, Head of East Asian Studies Department of the Bureau of Political and International Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deans of faculties at Kabul University and several other officials of Islamic Republic of Iran and the Embassy of Afghanistan were participated in the meeting. They talked about consolidation and expansion of their relations with Kabul University in international relations and politics.

Prof. Hamidullah Farooqi welcomed the presence and approval of the Deputy Minister and Head of the Bureau of Political Studies and International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and their members at Kabul University, reminded of the mutual relations of both countries. He said "it is proud of being the oldest institution in the country. It is on the eve of its eighty-fifth anniversary ". Kabul University has presented many scholars and researchers to the community, and now it has 21 faculties, 96 departments and 850 professors who are more than 22,000 undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students are teaching and providing services. In addition, Kabul University has 16 master's programs and two doctoral programs in national languages ​​(Dari and Pashto).

The chancellor of the Kabul University added that the academic institution, in its 85 years of its existence, has been working in partnership with different countries around the world to work in accordance with national and international standards. Iran is also one of the countries that has enjoyed great contacts with Afghanistan, as well as a large number of professors from this institution and other Afghan universities in Afghanistan, and many of our teachers and youths are currently studying in MA and PhD studies in the universities of Iran.

Mr. Farooqi stated his trips to Iran and the visit of Iranian authorities to Afghanistan and Kabul University; he asked the Deputy Minister and Head of the Bureau of Political and International Studies of the Ministry the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the implementation of cooperation agreements. He has called for the establishment of a forum for the participation of several of its experts as a Jury Defense for the graduates of the doctoral dissertations of the university, which will be held in the near future.

At the end, Mr. Farooqi expressed his gratitude to the friendship of Iran with Kabul University, and also demanded the expansion and continuation of its assistance in the scientific and international relations.

Then,  Dr. Kazem Sajjad Pour, Deputy Minister and Head of the Bureau of Political Studies and International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while welcoming the presence, noted that Iran and its scholars are more interested in being one of the country's best colleagues of Afghanistan, which has many similarities in its academic and cultural sectors, and it is always embraced by the scholars of Afghanistan in an emotional and constructive spirit and is consistent with the Afghan state in strengthening their cooperation. They also promised that they would cooperate with Kabul University not only in the academic sector, but also in the field of international relations and politics.Mr. Sadjadpour asked for the development of cooperation in the field of international relations and politics and requested the head of the Kabul University to work cooperatively in concert with them.

Then, Prof.  Abdul Eqrar wasel, the dean of the political and political law faculty at Kabul University, spoke on behalf of others, urging the Iranian authorities to cooperate with the Department of International Relations of the Faculty of Law and Political Science of this institution.

At the end, Kabul University Chancellor donated a sample of Kabul University logo and several books from Pohand. Majroh to Dr. Kazem Sadjadpour, Deputy Minister and Head of the Bureau of Political Studies and International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Islamic Republic of Iran, and their delegations.

Then, the Deputy Minister and Head of the Bureau of Political Studies and International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Islamic Republic of Iran and their delegations visited the Afghanistan Information Resource Center and Kabul University Central Library with Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ameen Azimi, Kabul University Academic Deputy.
