Kabul University Chancellor and Senior Minister Adviser of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Higher Education Affairs, Prof. Hamidullah Farooqi and number of delegations visit from China: The final and 4th part of the report Dated: Dec 26, 2017

 

 The Afghan delegations visited the ‘’Ken Ming City’’ on December 16 to attend the Sixth Cultural Forum under title of "People to People Relations between China and South Asian Countries under One Way and Belt Project". The delegations during their visit met a number of Afghan students, studying at various universities and colleges. The delegations got awareness about students’ livelihood and study situation.  During their meeting prof. Faroqi talked about students responsibilities as Afghan academic delegates and ambassadors and encouraged them to acquire the expertise of contemporary science and technology of China and apply their knowledge in their home country.

  In the Cultural Forum under title of "People to People Relations between China and South Asian Countries under One Way and Belt Project" 100 delegates from six South Asian countries, including representatives of Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri-Lanka and representatives of China were attended. This conference was hosted by the South China Studies Center at the ‘’Shchuan’’ University of China.

 

 Among the key speakers of this conference, Kabul University Chancellor and Senior Minister Adviser of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Higher Education Affairs Prof. Hamidullah Farooqi started the conference.

The forum was consisted of three panels (round tables) in the establishment of a communication mechanism between people of China and South Asia, cooperation in education and media sectors between China and South Asian countries, the exchange of culture and religion between China and the countries of South Asia. Totally, 35 academic articles in each panel were presented in more than 10 academic articles in each round table. At the end of each panel, free discussion, evaluation and summarization were presented by the chairmen of the panels.

The first panel, titled "Establishing a People-to-People Communication Mechanism" between China and South Asia, was leaded by Honorable Prof. Hamidullah Farooqi, as a head of Afghan delegations. It is worth noting that the opening speech and the advancement of the first panel of the Assembly, summed up by Prof. Hamidullah Farooqi, were widely welcomed by the participants and Afghan delegation, through an exclusive interview with journalists and local media representatives.

The second panel, titled "Cooperation in Education and Media Sectors between China and South Asian" chaired by Prof. Mohammad Yusif Rahnavard, Head of Chinese Language and Literature Department at Kabul University and Executive Director of the Confucius Institute, presented his academic paper (Evaluation of Academic Relations Between Afghanistan and China under One Way and Belt Project), which was welcomed by the members of the forum.

Following the end of the third panel under the title of "Exchange of Culture and Religion Between China and South Asian", Ms. Li Tao, Executive Director of the South Asian Studies Center of the University of ‘’Sichuan’’, concluded the sixth Cultural Forum under title of "People to People Relations between China and South Asian Countries under One Way and Belt Project". At the end, the academic and cultural assembly ended at 6 pm and participants attended a dinner party at the South Asian Studies Center.
